Owner Kurt Gauthier comes from a family of craftsmen. He grew up in Essex, Massachusetts, where he learned various aspects of construction working with his father Ron Gauthier in the home remodeling business.

Kurt began insulating houses over ten years ago, and has worked on many beautiful homes on the North Shore and in the Pioneer Valley of Western Massachusetts. Kurt is known for his attention to detail and meticulous work.

His first home, a 1925 Tudor, was completely uninsulated when he and his wife bought it. The brick and stucco exterior prevented him from gaining access to the empty walls from the outside, so Kurt found innovative ways to gain access. He decided to drill the small holes necessary for blown-in insulation through the base of the old windows, and was determined to reach many of the second-floor walls and the ceiling through the attic. Kurt is proud to say that his own home is energy-efficient.
